A little about me

About Me

Hi there, I'm Taino Pacheco, a cell biologist turned data analyst and data scientist. You will often find me listening to music, playing the piano, and collecting vinyl records.

Random fact: I am distantly related to NFL Running Back Isiah Pacheco.

What I'm passionate about

Data Analytics

I've worked as a Senior Business Data Analyst for The New York Times where I expanded analytics for their Data Ad Product portfolio (Games, Wirecutter, News, Audio, The Athletic) as well as building and managing the ETL pipelines that powered revenue and KPI reporting.

Data Science

I'm a Cell Biologist by training but laboratory work was not the right fit for me. So I traded the pipette for Python, but if you still want to talk about signalling pathways, I'm all for that. I love the puzzle solving aspect of data science and discovering new code packages.

Cell Biology

We are living in an exciting time for advancements in the life sciences. I have always been drawn to the processes and mechanisms that create and support life.

Music

Music has always played a big role in my life. I've been playing piano years and I have done countless gigs. When I need a break from the computer keyboard, I head to the piano keys.
